Bethanie F. asks: I need advice for growing squash and keeping birds out?
My husband and I just planted 4 (baby) squash plants yesterday in our garden and already today the birds have eaten the leaves that were growing and left only a short stalk. Will these plants continue to grow and how do I keep the birds out?

Pin wheels can work. Things work for awhile with birds. They can figure things out. A fake hawk would have to be moved around. Rubber snakes would have to be moved around. Shiny alumnium pie pans hanging works. they are the best. Then there is the old scare crow. The stalks should grow. They make long vines.
