Chemical pesticides can get expensive, and some of them may even be harmful to children and pets. There are so many things you can make that are organic and safe to keep your garden bug-free. And they are very inexpensive to mix up. Here’s a trick for snails and slugs. In the area where they are a problem, inset a container into the soil with the top at ground level. Make sure it is deep enough that the slugs cannot crawl out. When your container is in place, pour some beer into the bottom. The slugs, lured by the smell or the mixture, will fall into the container and drown. A simple concoction consisting of one gallon of water to which you add one tablespoon of liquid dish soap works wonders as a spray to get rid of aphids. Spray this mix on the leaves of any plants being attacked by aphids and they’ll vanish.
Choosing the right plants is a very important decision to make prior to planting. The reason you want to know ahead of time is that the type of plants that you use will determine your schedule. If you are planning a garden, it is a good idea to make at least part of it edible so you can reap the rewards of your efforts. Your family and friends will also get to enjoy what you have done as you eat the fruits and vegetables that you have planted. Gardeners know how wonderful it is to be able to eat what they have grown knowing that it is organic and fresh. Your garden will look even better as you plant a variety of vegetables in different colors in various areas.
