Does Your Garden Need a Garden Building?
If you have a garden, and are considering if you need a garden building, the answer is almost always yes. Almost every garden needs a garden building. Since almost all gardens require some tools of some sort (and much more besides tools), you’ll very probably need a garden building, even if it is only a small one.
Garden buildings make the work on the garden much easier. If you have the garden tools at hand, you won’t be wasting time going into the garage or basement to fetch something. Especially in the case of more heavy tools, like a lawn mower, this is a huge advantage for you. There is nothing that makes working on the garden more unpleasant than going from one side to the other to get something. Just think about how many more times you will be working on the garden if you had just everything at hand.
A garden building is also an excellent place to store garden furniture. Of course, some furniture is made to withstand any weather, however, it will last longer if you keep it protected from the most extremes cases – like snow. If you have furniture that is not made of plastic, then you will almost always need to store it somewhere in case of rain or snow. Wooden furniture normally does not tolerate water, unless in some exceptional cases.
When you go shopping for a garden building follow these basic tips:
*wooden is more expensive, but also more appealing than plastic. It last a little bit less, but even then, it lasts several years.
*don’t buy a garden building bigger than what you need. Only buy one after measuring carefully the space you need and marking on the ground where it should go. Make sure people will be able to go around it undisturbed and that you are not blocking any window.
*pre-fabricated packages are almost always better than building a garden building from scratch. Only do the latter if you know exactly what you are doing.
*do choose a solid construction, don’t go for the cheapest possible alternative. As with anything else, you get what you paid for. A cheap building may look good on a catalogue page, but will it withstand the next winter?
*build a solid base for the building. A solid cement or asphalt base is as important as a basement for a house. Without a good one, no construction will last long.
Finding the perfect building for your garden will provide you with years of enjoyment, so choose wisely!
