Famous Gardens of Japan

Japan is a land of scenic beauty. Japanese love beauty and love to beautify things around them. Japanese Gardens are famous throughout Japan for their spectacular designs which further enhance the beauty of nature.
Kenrokuen Garden in Kanazawa is one of the top three gardens in Japan. The beautiful plots were once a part of the Kanazawa Castle built by the then rulers of that time the Maeda Family. This extremely beautiful garden features ponds, waterfalls, trees, flowers and stones. The garden was opened to public in 1871.
The Fujita Memorial Japanese Garden in Hirosaki is a spectacular spots. Built in 1919, it is a typical Japanese landscape which is named after its owner Fujita Kenichi. The area is divided into two sections; the upper section and the lower section. The location boasts of a spectacular landscape and a few buildings such as a tea house in the lower section and a typical Japanese house in the upper section.
In Kyoto you can visit the majestic place of the Shugakuin Rikyu Villa. This grand villa was constructed in the 17th century so that the retired Emperor Gomizuno-o could enjoy the remaining days of his life in the midst of nature. “Extremely Beautiful” are the two words which aptly describe this marvel of Mother Nature and man. The villa comprises of an upper villa and a lower villa; both having impressive imperial landscapes. Only guided tours of the gardens are offered which have to be booked in advance.
Isuien Garden is situated in Nara. This is a very pretty yard spread over an area of 13,500 sq meters. It consists of two gardens; a front garden built in the 17thcentury and a rear garden which was built in the late 19th century. A wealthy merchant bought the two gardens and made them into one in 1939. The garden has ponds, rocks and beautifully manicured trees as some important features. You can also visit a museum featuring the personal collection of the merchant; the collection comprises of pottery, ceramics and mirrors etc brought from other countries.
The Adachi Museum of Art in Matsue was founded in 1980 by Adachi Zenko. It is a unique and beautiful blend of Japanese art and Japanese garden design. The museum has a vast collection of paintings and from the museum building. Every season brings with it a new look in the garden.
Tokyo also has many beautiful gardens; Koishikawa Korakuen tops the list in beauty and grandeur. It is also the oldest garden of Tokyo. This garden has a wonderful miniature landscape featured by stones, man made hills, plants and ponds.
