Hi i am looking for some advice over my garden wall. we have a very tall stone wall round our garden about 2 m tall, and we have just noticed a large crack at the bottom of the wall about 1 inch and it thins as it goes to the top. has anyone got any ideas of what could be causing this, we have no trees near and its not near a road. any advice would be appreciated

This caused by ground movement due to either extra moisture in the soil or the soil losing a great deal of moisture and shrinking. generally, if the foundation is not up to the mark, then this will happen. You need at least 9 inches or concrete for the foundation spreading 9 inches either side of the outer brick line.

  1. The only cause of that crack is call soil erosion ,which can be happen by soil run or water damage .
